Her research specializes in micro/nanofluidics, including electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD) digital microfluidics for precise droplet control, lab-on-a-chip devices, interfacial transport phenomena, multiphysics modeling, and applications in chemical and biological sensing, diagnostic technologies, and energy harvesting. Funded by the National Science Foundation, DARPA, and NIH, her work has produced over 30 journal publications and more than 50 conference papers, amassing over 3000 citations. Notable publications include "Creating, transporting, cutting, and merging liquid droplets by electrowetting-based actuation for digital microfluidic circuits" (Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems, 2003), "Low voltage electrowetting-on-dielectric" (Journal of Applied Physics, 2002), and "An integrated digital microfluidic chip for multiplexed proteomic sample preparation and analysis by MALDI-MS" (Lab on a Chip, 2006).
