Alicia Jay is an Attachée Temporaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (ATER) in English linguistics at Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris III), contributing to teaching and research in the field of linguistics. Certified as an Agrégée d'anglais, she is a doctoral candidate in English linguistics at Université Bordeaux Montaigne (formerly Bordeaux 3). Her PhD project, directed by Guillaume Desagulier, is provisionally titled Les adverbes en interaction: analyse synchronique en anglais britannique contemporain. This synchronic study investigates adverb interactions in contemporary British English. Inscribed on October 15, 2024, her research is affiliated with the CLIMAS laboratory (Cultures et Littératures des Mondes Anglophones).
In her teaching capacity at Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle, Alicia Jay instructs the B2AL101 course titled Remise à niveau anglais - Arts - A2. This module targets first-year (L1) students at A2 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CECRL). Worth 4 ECTS credits with 1.5 hours of weekly tutorials, the course reviews essential grammar and vocabulary, builds linguistic competencies required for university-level studies, promotes effective learning methodologies, and aims to advance students to A2+ or B1 proficiency.
