Jayedi Aman, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architectural Studies within the Architecture and Design faculty at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He earned his Ph.D. in Architectural Studies in 2024 and an M.A. in Geography in 2022 from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an M.Arch. in 2017 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and a B.Arch. in 2013 from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. Holding credentials as an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects, Member of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh, and a USGIF Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence, Aman's research specializations include AI-driven design computing, energy simulation and predictive modeling, geospatial analytics, VR/AR technologies, and digital twin technology. His academic interests focus on how city design and development influence sustainability and human behavior, utilizing technologies such as machine learning, digital twins, and geospatial intelligence to develop frameworks for assessing environmental impacts of buildings and public sentiment toward sustainable urban planning and design practices.
Aman leads the Spatial Intelligence Lab and is affiliated with the Immersive Visualization Lab and Digital Fabrication Lab. He has contributed to National Science Foundation and U.S. Army Research Laboratory funded projects and participates in conferences including CAADRIA, eCAADe, and IEEE. Key publications comprise 'Urban sentiment mapping using language and vision models in spatial analysis' (Frontiers in Computer Science, 2025), 'Construction sustainability of container-modular-housing in coastal regions towards resilient community' (Built Environment Project and Asset Management, 2022), 'Digital twin framework for smart campus to reduce greenhouse gas emission' (IEEE Smart World Congress, 2023), and 'Can Green Building Science Support Systems Thinking for Energy Education?' (Sustainability, 2025). Awards include the 2022 USGIF Graduate Scholarship. A member of the American Institute of Architects, Institute of Architects Bangladesh, and Association of American Geographers, Aman emphasizes collaborative project-based learning to cultivate critical thinking and practical expertise for real-world architectural challenges. His work advances data-driven strategies for resilient, carbon-efficient urban environments.
