Jeffrey Collins is a Registered Architect and serves as Associate Chair and Associate Professor of Architecture at Kennesaw State University in the College of Architecture and Construction Management. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2000 and Master of Architecture in 2002 from The Ohio State University, followed by a PhD in Architecture with a concentration in Design Computation from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2019. Collins has been recognized for his contributions to the field with the AIA Atlanta Emerging Voices Citation and designation as a Scholar in Professional Practice by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Collins' research explores computational design, parametric modeling, and fabrication processes, particularly in precast concrete and digital scripting for architecture. He authored the book Case Studies in Parametric Design: A Guide to Visual Scripting in Architecture (Routledge, 2023), offering practical case studies on scripting techniques for complex geometries and customizable models. His scholarship includes numerous peer-reviewed conference presentations and proceedings, such as “Investigations in 3D Printing of Precast Molds” at the 2023 ARCC International Conference; “Otavalo Textile Grammar: Patterns and Dialogues” with M. Delgado at the 2021 SIGraDi Conference; “Coordinating Atypical Architectural Precast Concrete Façades: Two Categories” and “Mapping Precast: Linking Global and Local Descriptions of Architectural Precast Concrete” with R. Gentry at the 2019 eCAADe SIGraDi and ASCE i3CE conferences, respectively; “KBAD: Knowledge Base for Architectural Detailing” at the 2017 eCAADe Conference; and “Incorporating BIM into Architectural Precast Concrete Fabrication” at the 2016 ISARC. In teaching, he leads courses like Architecture Studio I and IV, Thesis Research and Studio, Design Communication I, Professional Practice II: Cost Control, Advanced Production: Precast, and Computational Methods. Collins co-chairs the 2026 ARCC-EAAE International Conference hosted by Kennesaw State University.
