Jesse Whitford serves as a Lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Notre Dame Australia, holding professional accreditations as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), Associate Exercise Scientist (AES), and ESSAM member. As a Notre Dame alumna, she graduated with a postgraduate diploma in Exercise Physiology. Since 2018, she has worked at the Fremantle campus in the School of Health Sciences and Physiotherapy as Course Coordinator and Practicum Supervisor for various Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (BESS) courses. She is also listed as Lecturer and Practicum Coordinator - Exercise & Sport Science at the Sydney campus. With over eight years of experience in the allied health industry, Whitford owns an Exercise Physiology clinic and practices as a Senior AEP. Her primary interests encompass the management of chronic diseases to reduce healthcare system burdens, with a special focus on cancer rehabilitation developed through years of collaboration with Perth's leading oncology physiotherapists. She previously served in the corporate sector as an Injury Management Advisor and Team Leader at a major insurance company in the Workers Compensation field, equipping her to bridge university education with real-life professional experiences for her students.
Whitford engages in community service by regularly volunteering at Solaris Cancer Care and St John of God Subiaco, where she conducts exercise and movement classes for cancer patients. Her teaching responsibilities include practicum supervision for second- and third-year BESS students, HLTH3101 - Exercise Physiology for Special Populations, and HLTH3210 - Nutrition for Health and Physical Activity. She received the Academic Postgraduate Award in 2013.
