Kah-Wee Ang is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He serves as Director of the Microelectronics Technologies and Devices Area and Deputy Director of E6 NanoFab. He is also a member of the Faculty Promotion & Tenure Committee for the College of Design and Engineering and Deputy Chairman of the Department Safety Committee. In 2024, he was appointed Chief Technology Officer of the National Semiconductor Translation and Innovation Centre (NSTIC). Prior to joining NUS, he worked as a manager at SEMATECH in the United States, where he led a team developing advanced CMOS manufacturing technology and received the SEMATECH Corporate Excellence Award.
Ang received a B.Eng. (1st class honors) in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2002 and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from NUS. His research focuses on nanoelectronics and nanotechnology. He has authored over 240 publications, delivered 50 invited or keynote talks, holds 25 US/SG patents, and contributed 4 book chapters. His work has earned recognition including the President’s Technology Award, the IEEE Paul Rappaport Award, the IEEE Electron Devices Society Graduate Fellowship Award, and the TSMC Outstanding Student Research Gold Award. He was elevated to Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2025 and serves as Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Electron Device Letters and on the editorial board of Scientific Reports. He has held roles on executive, steering, and technical program committees for numerous international conferences and regularly reviews for top journals such as Nature and its family of publications. Ang has been listed among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025.
