Dr. Leann DiAndreth-Elkins is an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Fairmont State University in the College of Education, Health and Human Performance. She earned her Ed.D. and M.Ed. from Texas Tech University and her M.A. and B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her office is located in 344 Education Building, with contact available at (304) 367-4128.
Prior to her appointment at Fairmont State University, Dr. DiAndreth-Elkins served as Executive Director of Disability Resource Services and Associate Professor of Education at Muskingum University, starting in January 2020. In this role, she led the PLUS program and the Disability Education Office, supporting students with disabilities through comprehensive resource services. From 2013 to 2019, she was at West Liberty University, beginning as Assistant Professor of Special Education, advancing to Associate Professor, and acting as Coordinator and Director of the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) program. She oversaw graduate coursework including Advanced Instructional Models, Contemporary Applications in Special Education, Collaborative Teaching, Policies, Procedures, and Current Issues in Special Education, and Mental Impairments. Dr. DiAndreth-Elkins contributed to the college's accreditation by the International Dyslexia Association for its reading specialist program, developed the state's only gifted education endorsement at the time, and supported initiatives like the Highlands Center for Personalized Learning and capstone research presentations by graduate students. Earlier, at Texas Tech University—where she completed her doctoral studies—she worked as Counseling Supervisor and Coordinator at the TECHniques Center, providing special education transition services, and participated in academic committees and student organization support.
