Lisa Norris, Ph.D., serves as an associate professor of art history at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Ph.D. from Brown University in 1993. Norris has been recognized as a faculty member in the fine arts at Kutztown University, contributing to the academic community through teaching and scholarship in art history. Her expertise encompasses 19th-century French art, as evidenced by her public lecture titled "Toulouse-Lautrec and His Muse—Paris," delivered in 2013 at the Allentown Art Museum in conjunction with the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition. This presentation explored the artist's relationships and influences in the Parisian art scene. Additionally, she authored a book review for the H-France Review in 2010, providing critical analysis on a study of French cultural figures and their works during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Throughout her career at Kutztown University, Norris has taken on significant leadership roles. In 2006, she served as Chair of the Fine Arts Department, overseeing departmental activities and faculty. She was elected Secretary of the University Senate for the 2018-2019 academic year, recording minutes and supporting senate operations during meetings on academic policy, budget, and faculty issues. Norris has been active in university governance, participating in the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) meetings, such as the October 25, 2012 session, and serving as APSCUF liaison for Art & Art History in the 2017 General Education proposal. She contributed to the General Education redesign committee in 2017, helping shape curriculum changes. Her involvement in senate committees dates back to the 1990s, demonstrating long-term commitment to the institution. Norris has also been featured in university publications like The Tower, highlighting her contributions to fine arts faculty trips and events, including the 2006 College Art Association conference in Boston.
