Professor Manish Patel serves as Professor of Urological Oncology within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, based at the Westmead Clinical School in the Discipline of Surgery. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Sydney with a focus on cell biology, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sydney on novel treatments for prostate cancer. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). As a practicing urological cancer surgeon at Westmead Hospital, Professor Patel is regarded as a leader in Australia for the management of urological malignancies, including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers.
Professor Patel's research interests center on prostate cancer, bladder cancer, urologic neoplasms, oncology, prostate-specific issues, urinary incontinence, cancer therapy, and urology.
