Marie McEntee is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Environment at the University of Auckland. She holds a PhD and has research interests in science and society interactions, particularly in relation to complex environmental issues. Her work includes topics such as science communication, participatory research, community-based approaches, risk communication, and the integration of mātauranga Māori in environmental contexts.
McEntee has authored or co-authored publications including 'Mahitahi me te Taiao: co-designing in Māori, te Tiriti, transdisciplinary and Aotearoa native forest contexts' (2026), 'Te Waka Houora o te Ngahere: Mobilising for Action for Forest Health in Aotearoa, New Zealand' (2025), 'Talking genetic technologies and conservation: purposeful games as a tool to level the epistemic playing field' (2024), and earlier works on biosecurity events and social media in knowledge exchange. She has been involved in projects addressing forest health, epistemic justice, and environmental education.
