Mike Esquivel, Ph.D., is the Dean of Business & Industry at Tarrant County College's Northwest Campus, where he leads programs in aviation maintenance technology, business, logistics, and supply chain management within the Business & Economics discipline. His academic and administrative career emphasizes practical workforce training aligned with industry needs. Previously, Esquivel served as Chair of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management department and taught courses including LMGT 1325 Warehouse Management. In November 2019, his students toured the DHL Supply Chain LEGO facility, gaining insights into real-world operations. Esquivel's contributions extend to community service; he was part of the team behind the TCC Northwest Community Food Market, which won an award in November 2018 and maintained operations during the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2021, supporting local food distribution efforts.
Esquivel has been quoted as an expert on supply chain challenges in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In January 2022, he addressed labor shortages impacting cold and cough medicine production. That February, he explained delays in grocery restocking following an ice storm. In February 2023, he discussed persistent domino effects in supply chains. Under his deanship, aviation maintenance achievements include six students recognized for excellence in April 2024, with Esquivel stating, "I am so proud of the six Tarrant County College Aviation Maintenance students." The program received a $25,000 Educational Partner Grant from Embraer in October 2025, involving Esquivel among key personnel. In April 2025, TCC was voted 'Best School' for the second consecutive year at the Aviation Maintenance Competition, with Esquivel praising, "The dedication and hard work of our students have truly paid off at the national level." He was nominated for the Chancellor's Award in 2017. Through these roles and initiatives, Esquivel advances Business & Economics education at Tarrant County College.
