Her scholarly work focuses on international trade policy, evidenced by her presentation in the UCI Economics Department Econometrics Seminar on November 28, 2007, titled "The Formation of Non-Tariff Barriers: An Integrated Framework for Empirical Analysis." This research led to a key publication: "The formation of non-tariff barriers: an integrated framework for empirical analysis," appearing in the International Journal of Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Optimisation in 2014 (Volume 5, Numbers 1/2, pages 131-152). The work integrates political-economic theories into an empirical model for analyzing non-tariff barriers. Through her multifaceted roles in teaching, mentoring, and research, Aggarwal enriches the academic environment in Business & Economics at UCI.
