Associate Professor Nobert Rangarirai Jere is a distinguished academic and researcher in Computer Science. He holds a PhD in Computer Science (2014) and an MSc in Computer Science (2010) from the University of Fort Hare, as well as a BSc Honours in Information Systems from Midlands State University (2006). His research focuses on ICT for sustainable development, emerging technologies, human-computer interaction, machine learning, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion for low-resource communities. He is an NRF Y2-rated researcher with over 2,000 citations and an h-index of 19 on Google Scholar. Jere has held positions including Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Fort Hare, Associate Professor and ICT for Sustainable Development Research Niche Area Chair at Walter Sisulu University, and roles at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. He has contributed to curriculum development at multiple institutions and supervised numerous postgraduate students. His work includes peer-reviewed publications, edited books, and involvement in funded projects exceeding R50 million, with international collaborations across Africa and Europe. He serves in editorial and conference leadership roles, including as Guest Editor for MDPI and Community Engagement Co-Chair for events in the field.
