Dr. Patricia Katherine Doyle-Baker is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. She holds a DrPH/PhD from Loma Linda University (2000) specializing in Epidemiology/Health Education, with additional PhD research on exercise interventions in chronic disease conducted in collaboration with the University of Calgary's Rheumatology group. She earned an MA in Exercise Physiology and Sport Science (1986) and a BSc (Honors) in Human Performance (1982) from the University of Victoria. Prior to her academic career at the University of Calgary, Dr. Doyle-Baker co-owned a rehabilitation clinic in Victoria and served as a sports scientist and certified exercise physiologist with national teams.
Her research focuses on health and injury biomarkers, with particular emphasis on women, female athletes, and the menstrual cycle. She has contributed to undergraduate and graduate program revisions and promoted cross-disciplinary collaborations across university faculties. Dr. Doyle-Baker has held leadership roles including Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and maintains affiliations as a Child Health & Wellness Researcher with the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute. She has served on boards such as Chair of West Island College, President of the Alberta Public Health Association, and Director of the Gray Family YMCA. She is recognized as a speaker, mentor, and advocate for translating research into health promotion initiatives.
