Associate Professor Peter Raisbeck serves in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne, where he is recognized as an architect, academic, and advocate with integrative expertise in architecture, urban design, finance, and architectural history. His primary research interest lies in design value and procurement studies. He holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's degree from RMIT University, as well as a Master's (Coursework) from the University of Melbourne. Since 2006, Raisbeck has taught architectural practice and design at the Melbourne School of Design. He leads the Built Environment Disability Inclusion Hub, which is dedicated to achieving spatial justice in the built environment through universal design and accessibility. This hub builds on initiatives such as the disability design studio and the annual Ableist Cities symposium, which he co-convenes to address ableist barriers in Australian cities.
Raisbeck's scholarly contributions include the book 'Architecture as a Global System: Scavengers, Tribes, Warlords and Megafirms' published in 2020.
