Scott A. Macor is affiliated with James Cook University in the College of Science and Engineering. He completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Zoology and Ecology at the university between 2014 and 2018. He is currently a PhD candidate at James Cook University, with research focused on topics in zoology including chemical signalling in lizards and herpetological studies. Macor has contributed as a co-author to peer-reviewed publications describing new species of rock monitor lizards and other reptiles and amphibians from northern Queensland. He has also assisted with fieldwork and specimen collection for studies on frogs and skinks. In addition to research, he has been listed as a lecturer or tutor in university subject handbooks for courses in the biological sciences.
