Doctor Sifelani Jirah serves as Collections Manager at the Evolutionary Studies Institute of the University of the Witwatersrand. He holds a BSc from the University of Zimbabwe awarded in 2000, as well as BScHons, MSc and PhD degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand. His research interests centre on palaeontology, with particular focus on the stratigraphy and sedimentology of Karoo-aged sediments and vertebrate palaeontology.
Jirah manages the day-to-day operations of the palaeontology collections and oversees fieldwork. He has contributed to publications including studies on therocephalian and dinocephalian specimens from the middle Permian of South Africa. Jirah was born in Mberengwa, Zimbabwe, in 1977.
