Simon Bradbury is Pro Vice-Chancellor International at De Montfort University Leicester. In this role he leads the university’s international strategy, with oversight of international recruitment and transnational education, including the establishment of campuses in Dubai and Kazakhstan. Prior to his current appointment he served as Head of the School of Architecture at De Montfort University and as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities. He previously held the position of Head of Architecture and Built Environment at Plymouth University.
Simon studied architecture at Churchill College, Cambridge, where he obtained a first-class honours degree and completed RIBA/ARB Parts 1 and 2, including a year’s scholarship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has worked in award-winning architecture and urban design practices in the USA and UK, with a particular focus on sustainability, and contributed to policy development at the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment. He chairs the Education for Sustainable Development project at De Montfort University. His research centres on sustainable architecture and building performance; his most recent book, Better Buildings: Learning from Buildings in Use, was published by the RIBA.
