Sridharan Devarajan is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Neuroscience, Indian Institute of Science. He received his B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2004, earning the President of India Gold Medal for the best academic record in his graduating class. He completed his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Stanford University School of Medicine in 2010 and conducted postdoctoral research there.
Devarajan joined the Indian Institute of Science as an Assistant Professor in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Professor. He is also an Associate Faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Automation. His research examines the neural basis of cognitive phenomena, including selective attention and decision making, using techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography, and computational modeling. He has received the Ramalingaswami Fellowship from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. His publications include papers in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Communications, eLife, PLOS Biology, and Journal of Neuroscience. Devarajan maintains an active research program combining experimental neuroscience with computational approaches.
