Dr Stephen M. Zozaya is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Division of Ecology and Evolution at the Australian National University Research School of Biology, where he is a member of the Moritz Group focused on evolutionary biogeography and conservation. His research centres on discovering, describing, and understanding biodiversity, with a particular emphasis on reptiles. He investigates topics including speciation, reproductive isolation, species interactions, trait evolution, taxonomy, and herpetology.
Dr Zozaya holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolution. He received the 2023 Mike Bull Award. His work has contributed to publications such as the 2023 paper titled “Initiation of speciation across multiple dimensions in a rock-restricted, tropical lizard” and studies describing new lizard species.
