Dr. Sudhanshu Kumar is Associate Professor of Law at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Chanakya National Law University (2006-2011), an LL.M. in Corporate Law and Governance from NALSAR University of Law (2011-2013), and a Ph.D. from NALSAR (2020). Prior to joining NLSIU in 2023, he served as Assistant Professor at NALSAR, Hyderabad, where he taught corporate and competition law to undergraduate and postgraduate students and headed the Centre for Corporate and Competition Laws. In that role, he contributed to multiple administrative positions, government-sponsored projects, and training programs for professionals and administrative officers on corporate and commercial laws.
At NLSIU, Dr. Kumar serves as Faculty Advisor for PACE and Faculty Incharge of the Chair on Consumer Law and Practice. He is also Coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma in Consumer Law and Practice. His research interests include competition law, corporate law, corporate governance, and capital market and securities laws. He has authored or co-authored several books, including Regulating Cartels in India: Effectiveness of Competition Law (Routledge, 2022), Indian Competition Law (Taxmann, 2021), Guide to Capital Market and Securities Law (Thomson Reuters, 2021), and revised editions of S M Dugar Guide to Competition Law (LexisNexis) and The Law of Consumer (LexisNexis). Additional publications encompass articles in journals such as the Indian Law Review, Indian Journal of Law and Technology, and NLS Business Law Review, addressing topics like cartel enforcement, antitrust concerns with disruptive innovation, and stakeholder protection in corporate contexts. Dr. Kumar has also contributed to research reports and training modules for the Competition Commission of India.
