Dr. Suman Neupane-Joshi serves as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Queensland Business School, part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. He earned his PhD in Finance from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. His research specializations include environmental finance, investor behaviour, initial public offerings (IPOs), emerging markets finance, and corporate governance. Neupane-Joshi has made significant contributions to the field through publications in leading journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, and British Journal of Management. Neupane-Joshi received the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award in the early career research category in 2016 and has obtained several grants, including from the National Stock Exchange of India and recent funding from National Trunk Rail Pty Ltd for projects analyzing economic, social, and environmental impacts. He currently acts as the postgraduate coordinator for the finance PhD program, supervising doctoral candidates on topics such as IPO underpricing related to telecommunication infrastructure, climate change effects on Indian financial markets, technology spillovers, and ESG practices in Indonesian state-owned enterprises. He has completed supervision of a PhD thesis titled "Three Essays on Corporate Toxic Emissions" in 2024. Neupane-Joshi teaches Advanced Studies in Finance (FINM4401) and Corporate Finance (FINM7402), and has presented his research at national and international conferences, enhancing discourse in finance and sustainability.
