Dr. Tobi Baldwin, PT, DPT, EdD, is the Program Director and Chair of the developing Brooks Rehabilitation Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Jacksonville University in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences. She brings over 20 years of experience in physical therapy education as a professor and administrator. Her career includes previous roles such as DPT Program Director at South College and faculty positions at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Baldwin earned her physical therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, a master’s degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in education from Walden University. She holds certifications as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT), Manual Therapy Certified from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Corrective Exercise Specialist from NASM, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from The Council for Six Sigma Certification.
Dr. Baldwin's academic interests focus on pain science education, clinical reasoning, curriculum development, and formative assessment in physical therapy programs. She co-authored 'Curricular assessment of pain science education in an entry-level doctor of physical therapy program,' published in 2024, which evaluated Doctor of Physical Therapy students' knowledge of pain neurophysiology using the Revised Neurophysiology Pain Questionnaire across multiple campuses. She also authored a case report titled 'Blood Flow Restriction Training for Chronic Quadriceps Weakness and Atrophy,' presented at the Orthopaedic Section in 2018. Dr. Baldwin has presented nationally, including on integrating evidence into the development of clinical reasoning for physical therapy learners at APTA events and student physical therapist pain knowledge assessment at AAOMPT conferences. She has served as a Fellow and Nominating Committee Chairperson for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Orthopedic Section.
