Tony Lynch is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the School of Business Administration at Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg - The Capital College. He earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Operations and Supply Chain Management from The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley, an M.P.A. in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University, an Executive MBA from Rutgers University, and a B.A. from the City University of New York. A former U.S. Marine trained in warehousing and logistics, Dr. Lynch possesses more than a decade of experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. Prior to joining Penn State Harrisburg in Fall 2021 from Auburn University, he taught at Rutgers Business School and at Queens and York Colleges of the City University of New York.
Dr. Lynch's research interests encompass gray swan risks in supply chains, reverse logistics, supply chain disruptions, trade policy and the global supply chain, supply chain strategy, public policy effects on focal, local, national, and global supply chains, and transportation and logistics. His scholarship has appeared in journals including the International Journal of Production Research, Management Research Review, and Journal of Applied Business and Economics, with presentations at conferences such as the Academy of Management, Decision Sciences Institute, and Production and Operations Management Society. Notable publications include Lynch, T.N.K. (2022) “Recalls, Reputation, TMT, and Reverse Logistics: The Effects of Operational Performance,” Proceedings of the Fifty-third Annual Meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute, Houston, TX; and Lynch, T.N.K. & Kaynak, H. (2017) “Toward a Typology of Organizational Responses to Significant Man-Made Supply Chain Disruptions,” Proceedings of the Forty-eighth Annual Meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute, Washington, D.C. He reviews for the Group and Organization Management Journal and advises the Project and Supply Chain Management Club and Young Americans for Freedom club. Dr. Lynch teaches courses including SRA 231 Decision Theory and Analysis, SCM 301 Supply Chain Management, SCM 320 Transportation Management, SCM 460 Purchasing and Materials Management, SCIS 546 Procurement and Supply Management, and SCIS 565 Supply Chain Strategy.
