Dr. Torsten Reiners is a Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management at the School of Management and Marketing, Curtin Business School, Curtin University, Perth, Australia. Holding post-nominals PhD IS/Edu, Dipl IS, BA CS, his academic background includes a PhD in Information Systems and Education, a Diploma in Information Systems, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, with prior affiliations to Universität Hamburg as a postdoctoral researcher and Technical University of Braunschweig. He joined Curtin University in November 2011 as Lecturer, progressing to Senior Lecturer, and has been involved with the School of Information Systems and served as Director of the Logistics Research Cluster. His career emphasizes the integration of innovative technologies in management education and operations research.
Reiners specializes in operations management, optimisation, decision-support systems, innovative technology, supply chain management, sustainable supply chains, logistics and routing optimization, gamification, virtual environments, big data management, knowledge management, e-business, and digital ecosystems. He has contributed to immersive technologies at Curtin’s HIVE facility for virtual learning environments. With over 3,700 citations on Google Scholar and more than 220 publications listed on ResearchGate, his research exerts considerable influence in simulation, virtual worlds, operations research, logistics, and gamification.
