Tracy M. Ciucci serves as Professor II and Department Chair for Health Science at Palm Beach State College's Lake Worth campus, where she has taught since 2009. Specializing in health education, she delivers courses including Health Concepts and Strategies (HSC 2100) and Human Sexuality Education (HSC 2130) in online, hybrid, and in-person formats. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes real-life applications, incorporating lectures, videos, interactive games, self-assessments, discussion boards, and service-learning projects that have doubled campus blood donations and increased HIV testing participation. Ciucci earned a B.S. in Exercise Physiology/Biology in 1999, an M.A. in Health Science and Athletic Administration in 2002, and is PhD (ABD) in Higher Education Leadership, Research, Technology, and Law, all from Western Michigan University. Prior to PBSC, she coached softball at Kalamazoo College and Kellogg Community College and taught health courses at Western Michigan University and other institutions.
Ciucci holds prominent leadership positions, including Vice President and Chief Negotiator for the United Faculty of Palm Beach State College, Chair of the Association of Florida Colleges Statewide Faculty Commission, and Legislative Liaison for the PBSC chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges. She has previously served as president of the PBSC chapter and steward/chief negotiator for the United Faculty of Florida. Her contributions extend to innovative initiatives such as co-founding Panther’s Closet, the college's thrift store benefiting students; organizing human trafficking awareness events; recruiting for free heart and breast health screenings; facilitating blood drives; promoting HIV awareness and safe sex education; and developing 'Tracy Talks,' an interactive student presentation series modeled after TED Talks. Ciucci's achievements include induction into the Western Michigan University Human Performance and Health Education Alumni Honor Academy in 2018, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award in 2014, the Stewart Distinguished Teaching Award in 2016, and the Champion of Women Award in 2017 for efforts raising awareness of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
