Dr. Vinod Pallath, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Medical Education & Assessment at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD from institutions in India and possesses over 22 years of experience in higher education. His career includes previous roles at the University of Malaya Faculty of Medicine, where he was involved in the Medical Education & Research Development Unit, and Melaka Manipal Medical College. Currently, he serves as Director of Medical and Health Professions Education, teaches undergraduate medical students in units such as MED1200 Principles of Medicine 1, and supervises doctoral research projects.
Dr. Pallath's research focuses on medical education, encompassing competency-based medical education, faculty development, professionalism, leadership and management, technology-enhanced learning, and student support. As a trained medical microbiologist, he conducts research on bacterial virulence, particularly survival strategies in uropathogens. He has organized nearly 150 faculty development workshops and is a certified trainer by the Human Resources Development Corporation, Malaysia. His accolades include Best Lecturer - Pre/Para Clinical for 2022-2023, Excellence in Service awards from the University of Malaya, Good Teacher Awards for Excellence in Teaching in 2011, 2013, and 2015, Pensyarah Terbaik Pre/Para Klinikal in 2023, and Best e-Poster Presentation in 2024.
