Weina Zhang is an Associate Professor of Finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. She holds a PhD in Finance and an MSc in Finance from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, as well as a BBA in Finance with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore. Her academic career at NUS Business School includes appointments as Assistant Professor from 2006 to 2014, Senior Lecturer from 2017 to 2020, and Associate Professor since 2021. She serves as Deputy Director of the Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) at NUS since 2021 and as Academic Director of the MSc in Sustainable and Green Finance since 2022. Her research interests encompass sustainable and green finance, corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investment, impact investment, asset pricing and investment, and fixed income securities. Selected publications include co-authored works such as “Reciprocity between Financial and Social Performance in Microfinance Institutions” (2020) in Public Performance & Management Review, “Does Policy Instability Matter for International Equity Markets?” (2020) in International Review of Finance, and “The Information Value of Credit Rating Action Reports: A Textual Analysis” (2016) in Management Science. She has also developed numerous teaching cases published by Ivey Publishing and The Case Centre. Zhang is a member of the American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association, and American Economic Association, and has served on conference review committees and as an ad hoc referee for various academic journals. She has received awards including finalist for the Pagano-Zechner Award for Best Paper in the Review of Finance (2018) and best paper awards at finance conferences.
