Dr. Ewilly Liew is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. She holds key leadership roles including Director of Undergraduate Studies, Course Director of the Bachelor of Business and Commerce, and Deputy Course Director of the Bachelor of Digital Business. From 2020 to 2022, she served as Department Coordinator, and from 2016 to 2018 as Academic Advisor for Business Analytics. Liew completed her tertiary studies at Monash University Malaysia from 2007 to 2015 and earned a Data Science Microcredential from Monash University Australia in 2020. Her early academic excellence is evidenced by awards such as Dean’s Honours List in 2009 and 2010, Overall Best Thesis and Best Thesis Presentation in 2010, Honours Degree Full Scholarship in 2010, and Postgraduate Research Degree Full Scholarship from 2013 to 2015. She was a visiting research fellow at Harvard University in Spring 2015.
Liew's research specializations include emerging technology adoption, digital transformation, and behavioral analysis in public healthcare, higher education, and service sectors, with expertise in data visualization, statistical learning, structural equation modeling, and survey-based analysis. Notable publications encompass "Accelerating autism spectrum disorder care: a rapid review of data science applications in diagnosis and intervention" (2025, Asian Journal of Psychiatry), "Examining doctors' business analytics capabilities in using the electronic medical record system for decision-making effectiveness in intensive care units: impact of the COVID-19 pandemic" (2025, PLoS ONE), "Factors influencing healthcare providers’ behaviours in deprescribing: a cross-sectional study" (2024, Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice), "Exploring intention to use cryptocurrencies payment across age groups and gender: a multi-stage machine learning application on the extended UTAUT model" (2024, International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences), and "Decoding Intention to Use mHealth from an Adaptive Goal-Setting Perspective" (2024, book chapter). She has developed four new Business Analytics units, led student teams to national and regional data science competition victories, and secured funding including School Learning Innovation Fund (2023) and HASS Grant 2025-2026. Liew contributes to projects on AI-driven systems, gerontechnology, and public health policy, and has served on organizing committees such as IEEE IEEM 2022. She received the Monash Vice-Chancellor's Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2020.
