In addition to the weekly class meeting, the instructor is expected to convene a weekly meeting with the teaching assistants to plan recitation activities and provide instructional guidance. Teaching assistants are responsible for grading course materials; however, they regularly consult with the instructor regarding grading questions and related academic issues. Both the instructor and teaching assistants are expected to actively monitor and respond on Piazza.

The instructor is not required to hold regularly scheduled office hours, but must remain accessible to students who request meetings. Certificate students may seek academic or career guidance or wish to raise concerns about the course, and the instructor is expected to address such matters and follow up as appropriate.

Experience in teaching advanced math (Linear Algebra, Multivariate Calculus, Probability) and Algorithms & Data Structures or similar courses is required. Master's degree in computer science or related field is required.
