The Functional Analyst, Academic Systems supports Academic Affairs
through the development, implementation, integration, and
continuous improvement of academic systems, business intelligence,
reporting, and data governance processes. This role serves as the
technical lead for Academic Affairs data integration by developing
automated workflows, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs),
dashboards, and reporting solutions that support curriculum
management, assessment, student success, compliance, strategic
planning, and institutional decision making. The Functional Analyst
collaborates with Enterprise Project Management, Information
Technology, Institutional Effectiveness, Enrollment Services, and
other administrative offices to improve operational effectiveness
and establish reliable, centralized sources of institutional
data.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Academic Systems Integration
& Automation
- Supports the administration, optimization, integration, and
ongoing enhancement of Academic Affairs systems, including Workday
Student, CurriQunet/Acadea, 25Live Schedule Optimizer, Parchment,
Paradigm, OnBase, SharePoint, and related applications.
Develops, tests, and implements EIBs, integrations,
automated workflows, and related technology solutions that improve
Academic Affairs business processes.
Evaluates business processes and system functionality
throughout the academic lifecycle, including curriculum
development, scheduling, registration, assessment, graduation, and
student completion, to identify opportunities for automation and
continuous improvement.
Participates in system implementations, upgrades, testing,
release validation, and post-production support.
Develops and maintains technical documentation, business
process documentation, and user support materials.
Academic Data Governance & Business Intelligence
- Develops, implements, and maintains centralized reporting
structures and business intelligence solutions that serve as the
authoritative source for Academic Affairs data.
- Designs and maintains dashboards, SharePoint sites, and
self-service reporting tools that provide Academic Affairs leaders
with timely access to operational, compliance, assessment, and
strategic information.
- Establishes and maintains centralized repositories for
course approvals, program approvals, curriculum alignments,
statewide transfer designations, accreditation documentation,
assessment information, and related institutional records.
- Integrates data across curriculum management, student
information systems, assessment processes, and other institutional
systems to improve data consistency, reporting efficiency, and
decision making.
- Performs data validation, reconciliation, and quality
assurance activities to ensure the integrity of institutional
information.
Compliance Reporting & Academic Analytics
- Develops and maintains reporting processes supporting
compliance with College, state, federal, accreditation, and
regulatory requirements, including Senate Bill 1 (SB1), House Bill
96 (HB96), Higher Education Information (HEI) reporting, Student
Success Incentive (SSI), and related reporting
initiatives.
- Collaborates with Academic Affairs leadership to analyze
academic performance metrics, funding opportunities, CIP code
alignment, course success reporting, and other institutional data
supporting strategic planning.
- Supports statewide transfer initiatives by maintaining
reporting related to TAG, CTAG, ITAG, OT36, OGTP, Course Inventory,
transfer alignments, and related academic approvals.
- Develops reporting tools that support curriculum review,
assessment, program review, accreditation, and institutional
effectiveness activities.
- Performs ongoing audits of academic data to identify
discrepancies, improve reporting accuracy, and support
institutional compliance.
Assessment, Collaboration & Customer Support
- Partners with academic departments to implement technology
solutions supporting program assessment, Institutional Learning
Goals (ILGs), Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs), and program
outcomes.
- Develops dynamic reporting solutions that reduce manual
processes and improve access to assessment information for faculty
and administrators.
- Provides technical support, consultation, and training
related to Academic Affairs systems, reporting tools, dashboards,
and business processes.
- Collaborates with Enterprise Project Management, Information
Technology, Institutional Effectiveness, Enrollment Services, and
other administrative offices on strategic initiatives and
cross-functional projects.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,
Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Higher Education
Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience
supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, student
information systems, business intelligence, systems integration,
data analytics, business process improvement, reporting, or related
technology functions.
*An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework
and experience may qualify a candidate.
