Responsibilities: Directs all operations and activities of the library and provides leadership for the Library as a center of support for teaching, learning and scholarship. Will plan and implement user-services initiatives supporting an active information-literacy program with strong electronic-resources emphasis for on-campus and extended-learning students and faculty. Will strengthen traditional resources and develop new resources in electronic media and technology. In a hands-on leadership capacity, will create an inviting and welcoming environment conducive to learning, free exchange of ideas, excellence in service and commitment to learning.
Requirements: Graduate degree required, preferably in Library/Information Science from ALA-accredited institution, Doctorate preferred. Minimum of five years’ directly related experience, preferably to include administrative experience in a library. Strong understanding of information literacy and related technologies required. Must possess excellent management, budgeting, and communication skills, as well as proven customer service orientation. Demonstrated administrative ability and ability to analyze library services in relation to the needs of a wide group of constituencies. Higher education or 9-12 instructional experience preferred.
