Pedro W. Crous is a mycologist and director of the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute. His research focuses on the taxonomy, phylogeny, and biodiversity of fungi, especially plant pathogenic fungi. He has described numerous new fungal species and contributed to the classification of fungi affecting crops and forestry.
