Tulio de Oliveira is a professor at Stellenbosch University and director of the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation. His research focuses on genomic surveillance of infectious diseases, including HIV, tuberculosis, and SARS-CoV-2. He has contributed to the rapid identification of new variants of concern.
