Brenda W. J. H. Penninx is a psychiatric epidemiologist whose research focuses on the etiology, course, and consequences of depression and anxiety. She has contributed to understanding the interplay between mental and physical health through large-scale cohort studies, including the Netherlands Study of Depression and Anxiety (NESDA).
