R. A. Samson is a mycologist known for his research on fungal taxonomy and biodiversity, particularly of Aspergillus species. His work has contributed to understanding of food-borne fungi and mycotoxins. He is affiliated with the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
