The division contributes to teaching in 12 of the 18 courses in the medical program and is responsible for the program's final course in semester 12. Within the division nearly 100 research projects are currently ongoing.
Description of the subject area
Family Medicine is a broad and rapidly expanding field of research and education at KI and forms the basis of the specialist competence required for physicians working in primary care. In recent years, the Swedish Government and Parliament have introduced several initiatives to strengthen and develop primary care nationwide. This transformation of the healthcare system towards Good and Close Care is a high-priority initiative aimed at meeting future healthcare challenges.
The subject area is characterized by a holistic view of the patient, where broad medical expertise, clinical decision-making, and a biopsychosocial perspective are central components. Patients with chronic diseases are generally managed primarily within primary care, and patient-physician relationships are often long-term. The subject area also encompasses the knowledge and expertise required for the extensive acute care services delivered in primary care settings.
Current research areas include clinical epidemiology, clinical decision-making, clinical treatment research, medical diagnostics, and screening. Research is often conducted in close collaboration with disciplines such as epidemiology, public health sciences, psychology, and education.
Your mission
We are seeking a physician with specialist competence in family medicine who has experience and competence in teaching at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels, and who conducts high-quality research within the subject area.

Duties will be designed and adapted based on the candidate's qualifications and interests, in accordance with organizational needs, and may evolve over time. The position is combined with clinical work as a specialist physician in family medicine at a University Primary Care Centre within Region Stockholm, where you will also contribute to the development of university health care in primary care.
