2026-2027 Communications and Media Studies-2
Position Overview
The Department of Communication and Media Studies is seeking a pool of candidates for temporary adjunct positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. Applications are encouraged by candidates with experience teaching communication & media-related courses to culturally and linguistically diverse students. The adjunct faculty will teach courses that equip students with the skills to effectively develop multimedia projects.
Candidates should be able to successfully teach one or more of the following courses, face-to-face and online (if applicable) during the day or evening hours:
- CMS 1301 Introduction to Human Communication Theory
- CMS 2325 Intro to Mass Communication
- CMS 2341 Fundamentals of Speech
- CMS 2361 Digital Convergence
- CMS 3301 Law and Ethics of Mass Communication
- CMS 3311 Studio Production
- CMS 3305 Mass Media Management
- CMS 3320 Intercultural Communication
- CMS 3325 Digital Media Writing
- CMS 3371 Field Production
Requirements and Preferences
Minimum Experience/Education:
- Master’s Degree in communication and media studies (or a related field) from a regionally accredited college/university
- Two years or more of successful teaching experience in Communication and Media Studies at the undergraduate college level in a multicultural environment
Department Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated success in multimedia
- Ability to use various technologies & digital media applications to teach courses and engage students
- Ability to teach effectively using best practices and a variety of instructional methods
- Ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
