Teaching Associate (TA) for the Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences

Position Overview: The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences seeks graduate students as Teaching Associate applicants. Teaching Associates typically are responsible for providing classroom instruction.
- The department is seeking TA applicants for sections of IS52L Computer Concepts Lab.
Anticipated Appointment Dates: Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026; Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027
Hours/Units per week: Students can work up to 20-hours per week.
Job Duties may include: Instruct and manage the lab component of the course IS52 Computer Concepts; Exhibit proficiency in the instructional software used in the laboratory; Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access; Preparing course material as assigned by the IS52 Course Coordinator; Maintain regular communication with students; Assess student performance; Assist students outside of class during office hours; Attend TA orientation; Maintain office hours; Evaluate student work; Administering and proctoring exams; Maintain ongoing communication with the IS52 Course Coordinator; Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Admission to the MBA or EMBA Program in the Craig School of Business, in good academic standing. Enrollment in at least 6-units for the semester or in two courses toward the degree. Demonstrated, satisfactory progress towards the degree. Ability to relate well with others within the academic environment. Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds. Communication skills appropriate to the instructional setting. Proficiency in the use of the Internet and other software applications, specifically, email, file transfer, and Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems and Technology, Data Analytics, or equivalent.
