Academic Emergency Medicine Physician (Irvine Campus)
Position Overview
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Department of Emergency Medicine is now accepting applications from skilled physician educators who are passionate about advancing clinical care, education and research within a fast-paced, high-volume, clinical/academic setting. Positions are available in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank.
Candidates must possess a DO, MD or MD/PhD and board certification/board eligibility in Emergency Medicine. California DEA registration, California Medical License/California Medical License eligibility and the ability to obtain California UCIMC staff credentials are required.
Strong interest and demonstrated abilities in delivering patient care in an academic clinical setting, teaching residents and medical students, and providing service to the University are required. Those with post-doctoral trainings, fellowships, sub-specializations and/or advanced degrees/certifications are strongly desired.
The incumbent will be expected to provide patient care primarily at the new UCI Health Medical Center in Irvine with the ability to also provide coverage in other UCI locations; teach fellows, residents, medical students and other academic learners, as well as contribute to scholarly activities, when possible; and provide public and University service. Positions are dependent upon funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application): DO, MD or MD/PhD; Eligible/Board Certification in Emergency Medicine; Eligible/California Medical License; Eligible/California DEA registration; Ability to obtain UCIMC Staff credentials.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $260,374-$353,116. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See UC salary scales. This position may include membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
