Academic Marketing Specialist - School of Divinity
The function of the Academic Marketing Specialist is to lead the creation, enhancement, standardization, and the effective delivery of information with the School of Divinity relating to academic services and degrees to both internal and external audiences. This position is also responsible for helping the School of Divinity message their vision through websites and other communication mediums to achieve business objectives. He/She will play a vital role in developing, maintaining and continually improving an effective academic website presence, social media presence and strategic messaging, amongst other duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Promotion of special events for the Center for Apologetics & Cultural Engagement and the School of Divinity at large.
- Aid the Dean and Associate Dean in staying current with theological and ministry training trends and new opportunities.
- Research enrollment trends related to overall SOD and with specific insight for designated areas within the school.
- Liaison with internal and external partners to drive and engage traffic, acquire and retain subscribers and generate inquiries (leads).
- Integrate digital communications and marketing with existing non-digital communication and marketing efforts.
- Develop content for social media, SOD events publications, websites, and other communication channels. Provide copyediting and proofreading assistance.
- Participate in planning and strategic development of messages through regular meetings, interactions, and collaboration with the Dean, Associate Dean and other colleagues as necessary.
- Work closely with the marketing project coordinator to ensure content meets the goals of the requested project.
- Ensure division-wide understanding of and adherence to updated policy.
- Support and coordinate efforts for proactive/earned media opportunities.
- Assist with the development of special projects and project management under the direction of the Associate Dean.
- Manage, edit, and develop web content for the SOD website, and work closely with Web Content and the Web Development team to ensure all digital platforms are working properly, and displaying correct and current information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Credentials
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of social media management
- Experience with graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Illustrator etc.)
