The Academic Programs & Quality Officer will play a key role within the Faculty of Science in supporting changes to academic offerings in response to the Academic Calendar change, due for implementation in 2028, and other curriculum transformation projects in alignment with the Progress for All strategy. This a collaborative role working closely with the academic leadership team and project administrators across the Science Education Team (SET) and various schools within the Faculty.
About the role
- $103k - $110k plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Fixed Term – 18 Months
- Full-time (35 hours per week)
Specific responsibilities for this role include:
- Support the Senior Academic Programs & Quality Officer and the Science Education Team in the delivery of Faculty/Division projects and initiatives to achieve educational, operational and strategic goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of University and Faculty policies and procedures, relevant to governance, design, delivery, review, and quality of academic offerings.
- Provide effective support to academic staff on the policies, procedures and systems for the creation, revision and disestablishment of programs, specialisations and courses in the Faculty.
- Provide practical and proactive project support and administrative services to the Science Education Team and stakeholders.
- Coordinate workflows and systems for managing curriculum related projects, such as calendar and curriculum transformation projects.
- Develop and manage effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the Curriculum Transformation project.
- Support adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within a defined, consistent and proven set of rules for project development.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
- Cooperate with all health & safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself or others.
