The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) is seeking an exceptional senior leader to take on the role of Academic Registrar.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Education), this pivotal role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the University’s student administration functions and academic regulatory compliance. The Academic Registrar plays a critical role in ensuring consistency, integrity and compliance across institutional policies, processes and systems that support students from admission through to graduation.

The role has responsibility for key areas including student records, enrolment operations, examinations and graduation, as well as the systems that underpin these functions. A strong focus is placed on continuous improvement, system integration and service quality to enhance the experience of both students and staff engaging with university processes.

As Academic Registrar, you will lead a large and specialist professional portfolio comprising over 50 staff and an operating budget of $11.8M. You will partner closely with senior academic and professional leaders across the Students and Education portfolio and the wider University, providing high-level strategic advice on policy, regulation, compliance and operational effectiveness. Acting as a key liaison with TEQSA and other regulatory bodies, the role is central to safeguarding academic quality and ensuring accurate statutory and Commonwealth reporting.

This position requires an experienced leader with deep knowledge of the Australian higher education environment, a strong understanding of legislation and regulatory frameworks and a demonstrated ability to deliver student-centred, best-practice administrative services within complex organisations.
