Academic Technology Specialist (ATS)
Position Summary
- The ATS provides teaching and learning support to instructors (faculty, adjuncts, TAs, and GAs) – often, but not exclusively, involving technology. Areas of support include, but are not limited to, helping to plan, develop, implement, assess, and enhance teaching and learning strategies and materials to ensure strong pedagogy; The ATS provides services to the University (~30%) and School of Nursing (70%); Provide instructional and program design expertise to support the development of innovative online and hybrid courses within the School of Nursing.
- Assist School of Nursing faculty in the design of online course and course content, development of innovative learning resources including animation/simulation technologies, and redesigning courses and course content for electronic delivery; Training faculty in learning management systems, multiple media and e-platforms; collaborate with appropriate campus division and offices; innovative use of simulation, virtual reality, gaming, and animation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- At least two (2) years of work experience in instructional design or related area.
- Experience with a Learning Management System.
- Experience with on-line course design and delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or related field.
- Doctoral degree in related field.
- Teaching experience in a higher education.
- Strong interest or experience in AI or VR.
