Controller's Office
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile various general ledger accounts; Work with the Controller and University personnel to investigate, correct, and follow up on any inaccuracies identified
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of one year of accounting experience including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports; Experience supporting audits and preparing workpapers is a plus
- Minimum one year of experience with Word, Excel, and Access
- Financial reporting experience subject to various internal and external laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Experience with ERP system administration, including user security roles, permissions, and access controls
- General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); Experience with Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate information, and develop effective solutions
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to providing responsive, professional, and service-oriented support to internal and external customers
