What You Will Do
We are hiring for two Accounts Representative IV roles and are seeking highly motivated, collaborative professionals to join our Cornell Duffield Engineering Finance and Budget Team. The Accounts Representative IV provides essential financial and administrative support to college and department operations, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of financial processes. This role serves as a key resource for hourly student appointments, interpreting university and college financial policies, managing account activity, and overseeing a range of transactional functions including reconciliations, account setup and closure, and procurement card administration.
The incumbent plays a central role in supporting college administrative units by monitoring operating accounts, managing ELI awards, and collaborating with the Shared Services Center (SSC) to resolve financial issues. With a strong focus on service and compliance, this position also provides guidance to college and departmental staff, promoting best practices and ensuring the integrity of financial operations.

What We Need
- Associate’s Degree and 2 to 4 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team, and to be resourceful and organized.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks in a deadline driven environment with particular attention to accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community.
It would be a bonus if you have any of the following:
- Familiarity with Cornell University administration, accounting, budget structure, procedures, and policies.
- Successful completion of Cornell Accounting Certification Program desirable, or completion within the first year on the job.
- Excellent communication skills combined with diplomacy and tact in interacting with students, and towards building strong relationships with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to thrive in a complex environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
