This position is expected to exhibit qualities commensurate with a professional-level role, including strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. This position will report to a member of the ABHES leadership team and serve as a key resource for evaluating institutional and programmatic accreditation applications, monitoring compliance with accreditation standards, and facilitating communication with accredited institutions and programs.
The ideal applicant will have demonstrated experience in accreditation, quality assurance, and/or regulatory
compliance. Candidates
must demonstrate maturity and sound judgment, strong analytical capability,
professionalism, and the ability to gather and assess relevant
information, identify issues and trends,
prepare clear and concise written summaries and correspondence (for communications), prepare
briefings and reports, escalate complex, high-risk, sensitive systemic matters to appropriate leadership,
and support timely, fair, and
consistent outcomes. The position will require multitasking, excellent
research, planning, and coordination skills, and the ability to meet
weekly and other deadlines. This
position will work closely with multiple staff and external constituencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and process applications
submitted by
ABHES institutions and programs, including, but not limited to, new programs, program revisions, distance education,
and other
institutional changes as
needed.
- Manage, process, analyze allegations and support documentation, and track complaints
filed against ABHES-accredited institutions and programs in accordance with established policies and
procedures.
- Analyze
institutional responses and supporting documentation, policies, procedures, and applicable requirements to
determine relevant
issues and next steps.
- Conduct careful fact-gathering and follow-up with complainants, institutions, and
internal stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized records, case notes, correspondence,
and supporting documentation.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported written summaries, findings, recommendations,
and correspondence.
- Monitor deadlines, workflow requirements, and service standards to ensure complaints are
handled timely and consistently.
- Identify trends, recurring institutional issues, risk indicators, and opportunities
for
process improvement.
- Escalate complex, high-risk, sensitive, or potentially systemic matters to appropriate
leadership
or subject matter experts.
- Create, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to
assigned responsibilities and accreditation processes.
- Provide superior customer service and timely support to
accredited
institutions and programs, Commission members, committee members, site visitors, and agency staff.
- Serve as
a resource for
institutions and programs regarding ABHES standards, policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
