GENERAL DUTIES
Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.
- Sets up, maintains, and organizes student laboratories
- Assists students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
- Maintains appropriate safety and hygiene standards
- Maintains required documentation related to laboratory activities
- Manages equipment and materials inventories.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Physics Department is seeking applications for a part-time adjunct College Laboratory Technician (CLT) position starting in Spring 2026. Reporting to the Senior College Laboratory Technician the Adjunct CLT will assist with laboratory setup and breakdown of technical lab equipment, work with instructors to support lab needs, assist with the set up and operation of telescopes, repair of lab and research test equipment, and perform other assigned tasks in support of faculty and students with research setups. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and sponsorship is not available for this position. Requires evening and weekend schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in laboratory settings, particularly in physics experiments.
- Knowledge of electronics and circuitry to assist in repairing test and experimental equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using laboratory equipment and technology.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Understanding and familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a lab environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing lab curricula and exercises.
COMPENSATION
$34.20 per hour. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
