Holyoke Community College invites adjunct applications to teach ART 121: Basic Drawing in Fall 2026. The course description for ART 121: Basic Drawing is as follows: Introduction to primary drawing techniques, focusing on black and white and limited monochromatic color media, using a variety of media (pencil, crayon, charcoal, wash, ink, etc.). Emphasis is on sound observation, skillful employment of materials, increased exposure to the fine art of drawing, and effective presentation of completed work. Two, 2 1/2 hour studios per week.
Adjunct faculty provides a quality learning experience for Holyoke Community College students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Visual Art or related field; Firm grounding in the subject matter of the course being offered; Experience using an online learning management system to support classroom instruction (Canvas preferred); Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff & student body.
MCCC Unit - Adjunct Position: Compensation: DCE Salary - $1,397.00 Per Credit; no benefits.
Schedule: Monday + Wednesday 2:00pm-4:30pm Start Date: Fall, 2026.
