Oakton College is looking to develop a pool of adjunct instructors to teach.
Part-time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalents (LHE) basis. For the 2025-26 academic year rates are $1221/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1294/LHE for faculty with doctorates.
Requirements:
CHM 101, 105, 121, 122, 240 (Generalist Chemistry): Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or Master's degree or higher degree in related field of study with at least 18 graduate hours in chemistry, or Master's degree in chemistry education with at least 18 graduate hours in chemistry.
CHM 207, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226, 227, 228 (Organic Chemistry): Masters degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or Master's degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in organic chemistry.
Additional Information: Oakton is looking for qualified Chemistry faculty to teach these courses: CHM121 - General College Chemistry I, CHM122 - General College Chemistry II, CHM223 - Organic Chemistry I, CHM226/228 - Organic Chemistry II.
